Chase Reynolds Ewald has been writing about art, design, food, travel, craftsmanship, rustic style and the American West for more than 25 years. A writer, editor, consultant, speaker and design judge, she’s written 17 books, two Western Design Conference Sourcebooks and hundreds of magazine articles.

BISON: Portrait of an Icon, a collaboration with Montana photographer Audrey Hall, has been the recipient of 4 awards, including the National Outdoor Book Award. Chase and Audrey’s book AMERICAN RUSTIC was named one of The 14 Best Home Design Books of 2015 by Architectural Digest. Their other works include RUSTIC MODERN, CABIN STYLE, NEW WEST CUISINE and THE NEW WESTERN HOME.

The author of CLB Architects’ monograph INSPIRED BY PLACE Chase also wrote MODERN AMERICANA with interior designer Max Humphrey. Her recent titles include RANCHO SISQUOC: Enduring Legacy on an Historic Land Grant Ranch, and BY WESTERN HANDS: Functional Art from the Heart of the West.

Chase has partnered with brand strategist and writer Heather Sandy Hebert on 2 books: AT HOME IN THE WINE COUNTRY and DESIGN MIXOLOGY: The Interiors of Tineke Triggs. For more on their consulting partnership, True North Creative Studio, see their website here.

Chas’s most recent project is WILD SUGAR: Seasonal Sweet Treats Inspired by the Mountain West showcasing the work of artist baker Lindsey Johnson, AKA Lady in the Wild West.

A graduate of Yale and U.C. Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, Chase helps private clients craft their stories. An enthusiastic cook and traveler, former wrangler and pack cook, and inveterate road-trip enthusiast, Chase lives in northern California with her husband and their 4 daughters.
